Everton travel to Anfield this weekend searching for a win that would maintain their European qualification aspirations and ensure the Blues finish above Liverpool in the Premier League table for the second season in succession.

Here we preview the Merseyside derby with the help of stats, facts and figures…

1 Penalty awarded to Everton in the past 60 Anfield derby games, which was converted by Wayne Clarke in December 1988. Tommy Lawton netted the previous spot-kick in October 1937.

5 Clean sheets for the Toffees in the past seven Premier League matches, having kept four in the opening 28 league games of the campaign.

16 Years since both league derby matches were drawn. This occurred during the 1996/97 campaign when there were 1-1 stalemates at both Anfield and Goodison Park.

25 Years since Everton won the second league derby of the season. Wayne Clarke’s strike ensured Everton recorded all three points at Goodison in March 1988. The last win in the return derby at Anfield was 2-0 in February 1986.

25 Derby matches for David Moyes on Sunday as Everton manager, which equals the tally of Harry Catterick between 1961 and 1973. Only Howard Kendall with 31 has taken charge of the Blues on more occasions in this fixture.

65 Points for Everton during the 2008/09 Premier League season - the club record. Moyes’ men can still better that mark with two wins and a draw from their last three matches.

100 Everton appearances for Seamus Coleman if the Republic of Ireland international plays in the derby this Sunday.
