Tony Hibbert will take another step in his rehabilitation when Everton attempt to qualify for the final phase of the Barclays Under-21 Premier League on Monday.
The veteran right-back has featured in the second-string's last two outings having recovered from a calf operation he underwent in late 2012.
The league rules permit the use of a maximum of three overage outfield players and one overage goalkeeper in a matchday squad.
And with just a point required to seal top spot in Group One – as well as a subsequent place in the play-off round - Alan Stubbs has been able to call upon the experience of Hibbert and Slovakian goalkeeper Jan Mucha for the game against Sunderland.
The Blues welcome the Black Cats to Southport’s Merseyrail Community Stadium for the 7pm kick-off looking to further extend their 12-game unbeaten run.
As well as Hibbert, Mucha's back-line will comprise Luke Garbutt, Shane Duffy, Tyias Browning and John Stones, while Francisco Junior and Conor Grant will operate in the centre of midfield.
The lively duo of Matthew Kennedy and Chris Long are set to man the flanks, with Greece Under-21 forward Apostolos Vellios the focal point up front.
Everton Season Ticket holders and FOREVERTON members are able to gain free admission to all home Under-21 fixtures at Southport.
Members of the public can gain access by payment at the turnstiles (adults £5, concessions £3). Southport Season Ticket holders will also be able to gain entry for free.
For those unable to attend, evertonfc.com and the Club's official Twitter feed will provide updates, with highlights and interviews on evertontv from Tuesday.
