Mirallas Toughens Up

by Matthew Gamble @efc_mattgamble

Kevin Mirallas says he's quickly adjusting to the physical rigours of Premier League football.

The Belgian's durability was called into question this week following a series of premature withdrawals with seemingly minor knocks.

But he played 86 minutes of the 2-0 win over QPR on Saturday, turning in a typically threatening performance.

Mirallas told evertontv: "It is the manager who decides how long you stay out on the field but he is leaving me out there more and more for longer in each game and I think he can tell I am feeling fitter and lasting more into games now.

"I am quite pleased with my own form. I think I am playing quite well. I had a decent game - I would have liked to have scored but you can't score every game and Tuesday is another opportunity."

Mirallas had scored in three of Everton's previous four games before Saturday's win as he enjoyed the best run of form since arriving on Merseyside in the summer.

His form has been a key part in keeping Everton's European dream alive ahead of a crunch clash at Arsenal on Tuesday.

"I think the main thing is the team are winning," he modestly added. "I am getting some games under my belt and playing match after match which is good also. I have been on target as well and I feel good in myself.

"I think it is going to be a good game. I think there will be goals and I hope we can grab another victory."
