An Evertonian from Hertfordshire is looking forward to renewing his Season Ticket for the 2013/14 campaign, after a successful season of using StubHub to sell his seat for games that he cannot attend.
Lifelong Blue Neil is originally from Wirral but moved down South a number of years ago, taking him over 200 miles from Goodison Park and forcing him to give up his Season Ticket.
Despite the distance, Neil’s passion for the Blues unwavered and when he found out about the StubHub deal last summer, he was delighted to commit to a season-long stay at Goodison, along with his eight-year-old son George.
The Club’s partnership with StubHub allows Season Ticket holders to sell their seat for games that they are unable to attend by listing the ticket for sale on StubHub.co.uk and Neil has been taking advantage of the opportunity throughout the 2013/13 campaign.
Neil said: “We live too far away from the ground so in previous years it has not been worthwhile to buy a Season Ticket as we wouldn’t be able to attend every game and would lose out financially. Also I didn’t like the thought of my seat being empty when I wasn’t there. It meant that I simply purchased match tickets on a game by game basis for me and George.
“However when I read about the Club’s deal with StubHub last summer, it was the first time since moving away from Wirral that buying a Season Ticket became economically viable.
“I have used StubHub on four or five occasions so far. It has brought in a few extra quid and made the Season Tickets excellent value for George and I. I have found that if I price my tickets reasonably then there are fans who are willing to buy, and it is made easy by the fact that I don’t have to communicate with the buyer or pass on my seasoncard – StubHub sort all that out for me.”
The option to sell on their seats to other fans combined with the low prices for juniors, also led to Neil purchasing his son’s very first Season Ticket.
“I am delighted that I was able to buy George his first Season Ticket and he has now begun his own Everton journey! Not all Blues fans live in Merseyside and the midweek games can make it difficult for supporters to attend every game so StubHub is a great idea,” he added.
