Long Features In Young Lions Defeat

by Daniel Alston @efc_danalston

Chris Long played a full 90 minutes for England Under-18s, but couldn't help them avoid defeat in Belgium on Tuesday evening.

The Young Lions faced the Red Devils at the Tivoli Stadium in La Louvière for their final game of the campaign - and in-form forward Long was named in manager Noel Blake's starting line-up.

Despite a close contest, KV Mechlen striker Gilles Sallaets grabbed the decisive goal in the 69th minute.

Blake is also in charge of England Under-19s, with Tuesday's game providing another chance to assess options for next season's squad.
