Everton Under-21s will be aiming to extend their lead at the top of Group One when they face Blackburn on Monday evening at Southport’s Merseyrail Community Stadium – also known as Haig Avenue.

Victory against Rovers - which would complete the double over the Lancastrians - could see Alan Stubbs’ side move four points clear ahead of second-placed Chelsea.

In the reverse meeting at Leigh Sports Village in January, Everton were comfortable 3-0 winners courtesy of strikes from John Lundstram, Conor McAleny and Francisco Junior. The latter pair were both on target in the Under-21s’ most recent outing – a 2-2 draw away to Sunderland last Monday.

That result in the north east saw Everton drop points for the first time following successive wins from their first three fixtures.

The Blues need to finish in first position to qualify for the end-of-season play-offs involving the winners of Group Two and the top three teams in Elite Group.

Kick-off for Monday's game is at 7pm. Everton Season Ticket holders and FOREVERTON members are able to gain free admission to all home Under-21 fixtures at Southport.

Members of the public can gain access by payment at the turnstiles (adults £5, concessions £3). Southport Season Ticket holders will also be able to gain entry for free.

For those unable to attend, and the Club's official Twitter feed will provide updates, with highlights on evertontv on Tuesday.

Tickets for Saturday's FA Cup quarter-final against Wigan Athletic are now on general sale. Click here to buy now.
