Jose Baxter admits he's unsure what sort of reception he will receive from Everton fans on Saturday.

Baxter left Everton in the summer and eventually signed for the Blues’ FA Cup opponents - where he has enjoyed some impressive form this season.

The Club’s youngest ever first-team player, the 21-year-old was never able to fully break into David Moyes’ plans but hopes for a favourable reception from a travelling Toffees party of over 2,800 supporters.

“You can never be 100 per cent sure what kind of reception you are going to receive from supporters of your former club,” he said. “But I left Goodison Park on good terms and I have been to a few of Everton’s home games to show my support for the lads. I love returning there.

One man who will no doubt be keen to make an impression is former Blue Jose Baxter

“I love the club. When I see Everton fans crammed into Boundary Park I will clap them, because they were so supportive of me. I am looking forward to seeing them this weekend.”

Baxter - born and bred in Bootle, just up the road from Goodison - is expecting to see some familiar faces packed into the away section at the League One club's ground.

“Loads of my mates from Bootle and around Merseyside will be in with the away fans," he told the Oldham Chronicle. "It makes me smile to think they will be there - and obviously it’s another incentive to perform well.”
