2008/09 was a vintage season for Everton as they qualified for the Europa League and reached the FA Cup final.
As the Blues gained momentum during the second-half of that campaign, West Bromwich Albion were brushed aside when they visited Goodison Park in late February.
David Moyes’ team ran-out 2-0 winners through goals in each half from Tim Cahill and Louis Saha, leaving the Baggies rooted to the bottom of the league table.
Australian Cahill took advantage of some hesitant defending to head Everton into the lead on 36 minutes.
The win was secured halfway through the second half when Saha scored in sublime fashion, beating Abdoulaye Meite with an exquisite Cruyff-turn before rifling a left-foot shot into the far corner.
Everton went on to finish in fifth spot, while the Baggies slipped out of the division along with Newcastle United and Middlesbrough.
