West Bromwich Albion visited Goodison Park twice last season – and on both occasions they left empty-handed.

The Baggies had already suffered a 2-1 Carling Cup third round defeat to Everton by the time they made their second trip to the Blue half of Merseyside in March.

Again Roy Hodgson’s team were beaten, this time 2-0, as the Toffees continued their superb home form throughout the second half of the 2011/12 campaign.

West Brom never recovered from falling behind in the 18th minute when defender Gareth McAuley put through his own goal.

The points were made safe in the second half when Victor Anichebe beat Ben Foster with a low shot that struck the post on its way into the back of the net.
