Everton travel to the south coast on Monday to take on Southampton at St Mary’s for the first time since February 2005.
Here we look ahead to the game with the help of stats, facts and numbers…
1Victories for Everton in their last 11 visits to Southampton, courtesy of a goal by makeshift striker Steve Watson in April 2002.
3 Successive away wins for Everton in all competitions.
4 Goals scored by Graeme Sharp in our 4-0 victory over Southampton at the Dell in October 1987 - including a hat-trick in the opening 20 minutes. Five years later the Scot repeated the feat for Oldham against Luton and, in doing so, became the last ever player to score four goals in a game for two different clubs in the old First Division.
6 Matches without defeat for the Blues against Southampton, with our last loss being a 1-0 reverse at St Mary’s in September 2002. On our last visit to the stadium in February 2005, David Moyes’ Champions League chasers required an injury-time equaliser from Marcus Bent to secure a 2-2 draw.
11 Goals scored by Joe Royle against Southampton - more than any other Everton player. The great striker recorded hat-tricks both home and away against the Saints during his time at the Club.
92 Percentage of games Everton have scored in this season, netting at least once in 23 out of 25 matches. The only blanks have come at West Bromwich Albion and at home to Swansea last weekend.
149 Appearances for Victor Anichebe during his Toffees career. The Academy graduate has scored in each of Everton’s last three Premier League victories on the road – at Swansea City, West Ham United and Newcastle United.
150 Goals scored by Everton against Southampton in our history, with just 97 conceded. Our 8-0 thumping of the Saints in November 1971 remains their biggest ever top-flight defeat.
300 After celebrating 10 years as an Everton player last weekend, Leon Osman could make his 300th career league appearance on Monday. The midfielder made his league debut in October 2002 while on loan to Carlisle United.
599 All-time away league victories for Everton, of which 11 have been recorded at the expense of Monday’s opponents.
