Seamus Coleman is targeting an extended first team run after putting an injury-hit two months behind him.Following his fitness problems at the end of 2012, the 24-year-old has returned to David Moyes’ team in top form.Coleman scored an eye-catching chip at Whaddon Road on Monday evening before collecting the man of the match accolade for his display against Swansea City.Prior to this week, injury had restricted the former Sligo Rovers man to just a couple of appearances since his outing at the Madejski Stadium in the middle of November. And having played a starring role in Everton’s last two matches, Coleman is now aiming to remain at the peak of his powers.“I’m feeling good,” he told evertontv. “It was disappointing to miss the Christmas period.“It was good to get back for the cup game last week and hopefully I can go from now until the end of the season without any injuries.”Everton did everything but score against a stubborn Swansea defence at Goodison Park on Saturday, with Coleman admitting it was a highly-frustrating afternoon.“They [Swansea] came here with a game-plan to maybe leave with a point and they got that,” added the Donegal-born man.“We got a lot of chances and possession but we just couldn’t break them down which was unfortunate.“It was one of those days. I tried to get forward as much as I could and put a few balls in the box but unfortunately no-one was there to put them in. On another day we would have scored, but that’s part and parcel of football.”With 16 Premier League matches now remaining, Everton sit pretty in fifth place in the table. Next up is a trip to Southampton a week on Monday, followed by back-to-back home games against West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa. An a FA Cup fourth round FA Cup tie against Bolton Wanderers or Sunderland is also on the agenda in a fortnight’s time.Everton have lost just once in their last 11 matches, leaving Coleman feeling positive heading into the upcoming set of fixtures.“I think the Christmas period was really important and the lads got through that brilliantly and started off the new year well too,” he added.“We will have a good week now in training and look forward to the next game.”
