Everton Ladies have secured the services of 12 players for the 2013 Women’s Super League season.

A dozen of last year’s squad have pledged to remain with the Blues, giving new manager Andy Spence a timely boost as he begins his preparations for the new campaign.

England internationals Rachel Brown, Jill Scott and Toni Duggan are among those to commit.

Also confirmed are Danielle Hill, Fern Whelan, Lindsay Johnson, Alex Greenwood, Michelle Hinnigan, Amy Kane, Brooke Chaplen, Jody Handley and Nikita Parris.

The Blues have also added twins Kelly and Vicky Jones who completed moves from Liverpool last month.

“I am delighted that the players have committed to signing new contracts for the Club as many of them had numerous offers to play elsewhere,” revealed Spence. “They have shown they want to be at the Club and that is fantastic news ahead of the new season.

‘’The re-signing of the players means that, with the additions of Kelly and Vicky and with some players who are going to be joining us for pre-season from the reserves, we are in a good position going into pre-season.”

It is expected that the future of Welsh international Gwen Harries will also be decided shortly with the forward currently mulling over a new contract offer from the Club.

Spence is still planning on adding further players to his squad and said: “I have made a number of enquiries about players and will continue to look for players who I feel will add to the strong group we already have here.”

One player who won’t be back with the Blues next term is Eartha Pond who hasn’t been offered a new contract for next season.

“I would like to thank Eartha for the professional way she conducted herself whilst with us last season and I wish her all the best for the future,” added Spence.
