Moyes On January Transfers

by Adam Clark @efc_adamclark

Everton manager David Moyes says it's impossible to rule out January transfer activity at Goodison Park.

The Blues boss didn't give too much away when asked about his plans for the window on Friday but did hint he would assess his options - particularly in the loan market - when the New Year comes around.

Last January saw Darron Gibson and Nikica Jelavic arrive from Manchester United and Glasgow Rangers respectively, while Steven Pienaar returned to the Club on loan from Sunday's opponents Tottenham.

Initially asked if he envisaged more incomings 12 months on, Moyes replied: "I don't think so."

Following that, however, the Scot admitted: "We may well go into the loan market and see if we can find anything in that area. I think that would probably be the way we are looking.

"But that was the same as we were doing last year but what happened was we got a sale of [Diniyar] Bilyaletdinov, who went back to Russia, and it freed us up a little bit of cash to go and make the signings. So you never can tell."

As for players leaving Goodison Park, Moyes added: "I've said many times if they [other clubs] want to come, they can come, no problem. Come and watch from the stands. But you better come with a big chequebook."
