Everton play their last home fixture before Christmas when Tottenham Hotspur visit Goodison Park on Sunday.

Here we preview the game with the aid of stats, facts and numbers…

1 In 20 Premier League meetings between the two clubs at Goodison Park, one of the two teams has managed to score more than two goals only once. This was Everton during their 3-1 triumph in April 2004.

David Moyes Andre Villas-Boas

3 Previous meetings between the club’s current managers. They were all last season when Andre Villas-Boas was the boss at Chelsea. David Moyes won once – in the league at Goodison - and lost twice, including a home defeat in the League Cup.

4 Goalless draws between the two teams in Premier League matches at Goodison Park. This is more than in any other fixture played regularly on the ground since the inaugural season in 1992/93.

5 Games in Everton’s unbeaten home streak against Spurs. This consists of two victories and three draws. Last season the Toffees won 1-0 thanks to Nikica Jelavic’s first goal for the Club.

7 Draws for Everton in their past nine Premier League matches. The Blues drew eight of nine league matches in the early months of the 1974/75 campaign.

Tony Cottee

21 Years since the last Everton hat-trick against Spurs. This was netted by Tony Cottee in just 13 first-half minutes in October 1991 as the Blues triumphed 3-1 at Goodison Park.

78 Years since the Toffees scored more than four goals in a game against Spurs. This was a 5-2 victory at Goodison Park in December 1934.

99 Premier League appearances made by John Heitinga for the Toffees. The Dutch international has made 88 starts and 11 as a substitute.

John Heitinga

150 League meetings between Everton and Tottenham, with the Blues trailing 48-55 on the head-to-head win record. The first fixture between the two clubs was played 103 years ago when Everton recorded a 4-2 victory at Goodison Park.

999 Premier League goals scored by Everton, against 998 conceded. The first was netted by Barry Horne on the opening day in 1992, while the 500th was netted by Lee Carsley against Blackburn in December 2002. Interestingly, the opposition goalkeeper that day was current Spurs stopper Brad Friedel.
