Evertonians turned Liverpool's annual Santa Dash blue on Sunday as 8,500 people took to the city's streets to raise money for charity.

Every year, the five-kilometre fun run is held in the city, affording Everton fans the chance to swap the traditional red Santa suits for one more appropriate for their club.

And, as you can see from our pictures below, there were more than a few smatterings of blue as the fundraisers made their way through the course.

The blue Santas - among them Everton CEO Robert Elstone - were running to raise cash for Everton in the Community, which celebrates its 25th anniversary during the 2012/13 season.

Volunteers working on behalf of the Club charity were also on hand before and after the event, dishing out refreshments and no shortage of encouragement.

Over the last 25 years Everton in the Community has grown to be one of the most well-respected and pioneering sporting charities in the UK.

And, to mark its anniversary year the charity is inviting all Evertonians to be part of an ambitious fundraising campaign to raise £1million to help the charity in its mission to support even more vulnerable and underprivileged people on Merseyside.
