The partisan Goodison support can help Everton overcome Norwich City this weekend.
That was the message from manager David Moyes, who is hoping to see Evertonians once again turn out in their droves, get behind their team and propel them towards another home win.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, the manager was quick to point to the 2-1 victory over Sunderland a fortnight ago where the Blues reversed a half-time deficit to take all three points.
Moyes felt that the backing from the stands spurred his players forward and helped crack what had been a resilient showing from the Black Cats.
“Goodison is a great place to play and that’s why it’s important the supporters are there and make the difference,” said Moyes.
“Against Sunderland in the last home game, we got to 1-1 and then we scored our next goal three or four minutes after.
“I thought that was because of the crowd’s enthusiasm. They realised the team were right at it and they knew that we hadn’t played that badly.
“It looked like a game that was going against us, so we will need that support again now we have got two games at home."
Visiting manager Chris Hughton had said he was conscious of the quality of support Goodison offered and Moyes added: “I hope Chris Hughton isn’t disappointed by the crowd at Goodison, that’s for sure!”
