Phil Jagielka has been named Everton's player of the month for October.
The England international helped the Blues go unbeaten in the month, as they recorded three draws.
His performance in the 1-1 draw at QPR was particularly impressive as he threw his body on the line time and time again for the Everton cause.
Jagielka collected his award at a special lunch at the Hilton Hotel in Liverpool City centre on Thursday.
He told evertontv: "We've had a good start to the season and it's nice to be recognised, to have had a decent start on a personal basis and to win these type of awards.
"But it's obviously down to the team doing well that confidence is high and the players are playing so well.
"The team hasn't had a great start for a long time and on a personal note if you're in a defence and you're not winning games the confidence gets drained out of you quite quickly.
"As much as we've conceded a few goals, we've worked well as a team and played well. So it's nice to start well. If everyone else is confident around you it brings out the best parts of your game."
Each month Everton holds an event at the Hilton to acknowledge the displays of the previous month's outstanding performer. Attended by business luminaries and club partners, the lunches offer outstanding networking opportunities.
Of course, there's also plenty of chances to mix business with pleasure with an Everton legend joining MC and Radio City's Everton commentator Alan Irwin on stage for a healthy dose of football chat.
