Everton has scooped two prestigious awards for its #standtogether social media campaign. The Blues walked away from the ‘somecomms awards’ in Manchester this week with the 'Best Use of Social Media to Research and Evaluate' and the 'Best Social Media Campaign' accolades. The only football club nominated in any category, Everton and web agency Rippleffect saw off competition from some of the biggest names in the industry to secure the national awards. Nominated alongside campaigns for The Arts Council England and Continental Tyres UK in the 'Best Use of Social Media to Research and Evaluate' category, the work done by the Club's digital media team and Rippleffect to accurately measure sales of 2012/13 Season Tickets as a direct consequence of the #standtogether social media campaign across facebook and twitter secured the award. 'Best Social Media Campaign' was one of the most keenly fought awards of the evening, with Everton and Rippleffect coming out on top ahead of a chasing pack that included campaigns for Sony, Nokia, 02 and Bing. Digital Media Manager Scott McLeod was present to receive the awards alongside Rippleffect's Social Media Manager, Nicola Peate.
