Everton pair Leighton Baines and Phil Jagielka are in the England side to face San Marino on Friday night.
Baines gets the nod ahead of Ashley Cole for the Wembley clash with one of world football's no-hope sides.
Jagielka lines up in central defence alongside Gary Cahill.
Baines and Cole have been contending for the starting left-back slot, with the Everton man in superb form this term.
Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson has been coy with his team selection strategy and it remains to be seen whether he changes his XI for Tuesday's game in Poland.
But with San Marino unlikely to offer much attacking threat, there will be plenty of opportunity for Baines to demonstrate his offensive prowess.
Also on Friday night, Seamus Coleman starts for Ireland against Germany. Nikica Jelavic, and John Heitinga began Croatia and Holland's matches while Kevin Mirallas was on the bench for Belgium. In the early hours of the morning Tim Howard's USA and Bryan Oviedo's Costa Rica will also be in action.
