Kevin Mirallas is set to make his first Premier League start when Everton take on Newcastle tonight - but fellow new boy Bryan Oviedo will have to wait for his Blues bow.
Belgian Mirallas is one of two changes from the side which lost 2-0 at West Brom before the international break, with Tony Hibbert also drafted into David Moyes' line-up.
Steven Naismith and the injured Darron Gibson (thigh) are the two players to drop out.
Hibbert's inclusion means captain Phil Neville will again be pushed into midfield, as he was for the Blues' last Monday night outing at Goodison Park - last month's 1-0 win over Manchester United.
Huyton-born Hibbert will be joined at the back by Phil Jagielka, Sylvain Distin and Leighton Baines, while Leon Osman, Steven Pienaar and Marouane Fellaini will link up with Neville and Mirallas in midfield.
Nikica Jelavic, a scorer in last season's 3-1 home win over Alan Pardew's side, is the lone man in attack and Tim Howard adds to his record haul of consecutive league appearances in goal.
As expected, Dutch stopper Tim Krul is missing for the visitors, meaning 37-year-old Steve Harper will take his place between the sticks. Former Blues midfielder Dan Gosling is named among the substitutes for Pardew's men.
