Everton welcome Alan Pardew’s Newcastle United to Goodison Park on Monday evening looking to extend a run of six straight home wins in all competitions.

But that’s just one stat we came up with ahead of the clash with the Magpies.

Here, in the latest edition of our new feature for 2012/13, we break down the Blues’ next outing in stats, facts and numbers…

1 Gordon Lee is the only man to take charge of both clubs. The Cannock-born boss was in charge at Newcastle between 1975 and 1977 before moving to Merseyside and spending four years with the Toffees.

Times in the Premier League era Everton have won their opening two home league matches. They achieved the feat first in 1993/94 and most recently in 2006/07, when Watford and Liverpool were the sides to suffer defeat at Goodison.

Wins by David Moyes in his seven meetings with Alan Pardew as a manager. Conversely, former Reading, West Ham and Charlton boss Pardew has two victories over Moyes.

7 Newcastle are the only side to score seven goals against Everton at Goodison Park. They did so to rack up a 7-3 win on Boxing Day 1933.

7 Penalties scored by Everton against Newcastle in the Premier League -  three more than against any other team. None of those spot-kicks have been missed and remarkably all were awarded at Goodison. David Unsworth netted three of them.

David Unsworth scores from the spot against Newcastle in April 2003.

13 Matches played by Dixie Dean against the Magpies, the legendary striker scoring 20 goals in those outings, with no less than four hat-tricks.

20 Goals scored in Everton’s last six home matches. All have been netted by the Toffees - 19 at the right end, with the other being a Tony Hibbert own goal against Newcastle in May. The last opponent to score against the Blues at Goodison Park was Arsenal’s Thomas Vermaelen in March.

21 Goals scored by Marouane Fellaini for Everton since he hit his first in a 2-2 draw with Newcastle at Goodison in September 2008.

24 Years since Tony Cottee netted the last hat-trick by an Everton player against Newcastle. The striker memorably scored a debut treble against the Magpies on the opening day of the 1988/89 campaign.

64 Victories for both teams in all matches between the clubs. There have also been 34 draws.

Pienaar celebrates v Newcastle

244 Goals scored in the 162 competitive matches between Everton and Newcastle.

39,517 The attendance for the corresponding fixture in 2011/12, the biggest home gate of the campaign. It meant that the Merseyside derby did not generate the biggest Goodison crowd for the first time since 2003/04, a season in which Newcastle again proved the most popular visitors.
