Newcastle Excitement Builds

by Andy Lewis @efc_andylewis

The biggest home gate of last season watched Everton hammer Newcastle – and there are still tickets available for this year’s Goodison showdown with the Magpies next Monday night (8pm).

A full-house just shy of 40,000 watched Steven Pienaar, Nikica Jelavic and John Heitinga fire the Blues to an exhilarating 3-1 win on the final day of the 2011/12 campaign.

Those highlights, along with some other classic moments, are celebrated in the above video, while this year’s clash promises to be similarly entertaining.

Both teams are tipped for European qualification and David Moyes’ side will be desperate to continue their sensational form on home soil.

Everton have won their last six games at Goodison, scoring 19 times and conceding just once.
