Four Everton Ladies players have been named in England's squad for their crucial Euro qualifier against Croatia this month.
Rachel Brown, Jill Scott, Fara Williams and Toni Duggan have all been included by Hope Powell for the fixture on 19 September – a contest which could see the Lionesses seal their place at next year's finals in Sweden.
Victory will ensure a fifth consecutive appearance at a major tournament, while a draw or defeat would force Powell’s side into a play-off.
Brown, Scott and Williams are familiar faces in the England camp and were also part of Team GB at this summer's Olympic Games.
But there could be a senior international debut for forward Duggan after the 21-year old received her second successive squad call-up.
Coach Powell insists the group are confident heading into the game at Walsall, but believes the Croats will provide a tougher test than the last time the two sides met.
“Although we won 6-0 in Croatia [in March], we know it is not going to be easy and the games you are expected to win never are,” she said.
“We made this qualifying campaign a lot harder for ourselves by drawing the opening game with Serbia but we’ve got better with every match since.
“Now we have to make sure we get the job done.”
