David Moyes is undecided whether Kevin Mirallas is ready for a debut at Aston Villa on Saturday.
The Belgian international arrived from Olympiakos this week having missed a chunk of pre-season with a minor knee injury.
He has since had a week of intensive training at Finch Farm, but Moyes admits he is unsure if he is fit enough for the Premier League just yet.
“I think Kevin has done fine,” said Moyes “We've trained him a bit harder. He's just missed a bit of training because he had a knee injury in pre-season, so he's probably a couple of weeks behind everybody else as far as his fitness goes.
“He's had two or three good days, so we'll try and pick him up and I'll look to see whether to involve him in the squad or not. I'm not sure yet.”
Moyes added that his Everton players are nursing a few knocks from Monday night – but nobody is definitely out.
Both Nikica Jelavic and Sylvain Distin were visibly struggling towards the end of the 1-0 win over Manchester United.
Distin took a knock to the back valiantly clearing a late corner, while Jelavic was replaced by Steven Naismith in the closing stages.
The Blues boss said: “We've got a few knocks and niggles from the game in midweek, so we'll have to assess them and make sure they're right before we talk about any sort of continued side.
“Distin was nursing his back a bit and we will need to see how he is. Jelavic has a tight groin so we will monitor that as well.”
