Steven Naismith has revealed that the quality at Everton convinced him to sign for the Blues ahead of interest from other clubs.
The former Rangers forward penned a four-year deal at Goodison Park this week and explained why he was so attracted to Everton.
"To come to such a wonderful Club is extra special," said the Scotland international.
"My decision to move here was down to the manager's leadership, first of all. Over the last 10 years, it's been one of the most successful clubs in terms of growing."
Speaking from Finch Farm after attending his first training session with some of his new colleagues, Naismith was visibly impressed by the surroundings.
"The facilities are definitely world class here. There was a great bunch of guys in the squad when I came in this morning," he continued.
"Every one of them made me feel very welcome. It's a quality squad, but hopefully I'm going to get opportunities and it has to be my goal to take them."
David Moyes' new signing already has a few close friends at the Club.
Naismith's former Rangers strike partner Nikica Jelavic is already a fan favourite following his January switch from Ibrox, while David Weir has been a team-mate for both club and country.
The 25-year old said: "I've heard a lot from various people that have been in contact with Everton over the past years.
"David and Nikica are two of the people that I spoke to quite a bit - David Weir, especially. He's been a big part of my career so far and he told me that I would love it here. His words mean a lot to me.
"It's good to finally get everything sorted out and to be involved in pre-season," he added. "It feels great to be an Everton player."
