Everton Confirm Malaga Friendly

by Matthew Gamble @efc_mattgamble

Everton's pre-season schedule will come to a glamorous and sun-drenched conclusion with a trip to big-spending Spaniards Malaga on August 11.
The ambitious Andalusians are based on Spain's southern coast and will provide a fantastic destination for visiting Blues - but also stern competition for David Moyes' players.
Los Boquerones finished fourth in La Liga last season and clinched qualification for the Champions League in the process.
They boast a number of top-class players and are managed by former Real Madrid boss Manuel Pellegrini.
Bankrolled by Qatari cash, Pellegrini has been heavily backed in the transfer market as the team from the Costa del Sol attempts to challenge the established order in Spain's top-flight.
Seasoned internationals like Martin Demichelis, Julio Baptista, Joaquin, Santi Cazorla, Jeremy Toulalan and Joris Mathijsen form the core of a talented and exciting squad.
The Blues have only faced Malaga once before, when they defeated the Spaniards 2-1 at Goodison Park in an August 2009 friendly.
Louis Saha and Leon Osman scored with JJ Luque hammering home a spectacular consolation for the visitors.
The confirmation of this game comes just days after a testimonial for Tony Hibbert against AEK Athens was announced.
At present, the Blues' pre-season programme is as follows:
14 July - Morecambe (A) - 2pm
18 July - Dundee United (A) - 7.45pm
21 July - Motherwell (A) - TBC
5 August - Blackpool (A) - 3pm
8 August - AEK Athens (H) - TBC
11 August - Malaga (A) - TBC
Ticket information for the Malaga fixture will be published on as soon as we have it.
