Dream Day For Blues Fans

by Helen Mayo @Everton

A group of Evertonians had a day to remember at Goodison Park after winning an exclusive prize draw to follow in the footsteps of their heroes.

Ten loyal supporters who have renewed their lounge memberships for the 2012/13 season took up the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play on the hallowed turf of Goodison earlier this week.

As a reward for their loyalty and continued support, all those who renewed their lounge memberships before the Fulham fixture on Saturday 28 April were entered into the exclusive prize draw and members from various lounges were randomly selected to play.

Alan Bowden, Mark Bethell, Mark Smith, Phil Curran, Ray Nolan, Andy Hood, Liam Leary, Andrew Crowther, Jonathan Deus, and Philip Rimmer were more than happy to swap their suits for football shirts for the special 5-a-side fixture.

Mark Bethell, who has a corporate membership in the Alex Young Lounge, said: “I always thought the greatest feeling in the world would be to walk onto the pitch at Goodison Park to the sound of Z Cars and to follow in the footsteps of so many of my heroes that have gone before me. After about 30 minutes on the pitch I took this feeling one step further and scored my first goal for Everton. Now I am just sat by the phone waiting for the call up from David Moyes!

“The day was incredible with a group of nine other die-hard blues who also got to live their dreams of being an Everton player for the day, playing with such passion and team spirit in true Everton style. What a dream come true!”

Lounge memberships are still available for the forthcoming season and in addition to offering an optimum experience, the Club has also secured optimum prices with a guaranteed saving of 25% on individual match prices.
