Blues' Video Game Battle

by Matthew Gamble @efc_mattgamble

Everton's players enjoyed a video game head-to-head at Finch Farm on Thursday.

The EA Sports dugout was at the Blues' training base and after a hard training session plenty of players were trying to prove they were the best at FIFA 12.

Tim Cahill was the reigning champion but he suffered an early penalties defeat to teenage upstart Ross Barkley.

Seamus Coleman, Victor Anichebe, Magaye Gueye, Phil Jagielka and Shane Duffy were among the other players getting involved.

Phil Neville was also overseeing the action but confessed he wasn't an avid gamer.

‘It is a fun day, EA Sports have been good enough to bring the pod down and the lads are having a bit of fun," he told evertontv.

"At this time of the season you need something to take your mind off the football for a bit.

"Youngsters nowadays live and breathe these machines!

"It's good bonding as well, it helps team spirit and it relaxes the lads."
