Magaye Gueye is encouraging supporters to get behind a new text initiative and raise vital funds for Everton in the Community.

The Club's official charity will be launching the Vodafone JustTextGiving service at half-time during Monday's game against Sunderland.

The new scheme will allow supporters to make a donation simply by texting EITC06 followed by a space, pound sign and the amount they wish to give to 70070 (for example EITC06 £2)*.

Blues legend Duncan Ferguson and local boxer Tony Bellew will be taking to the pitch to tell fans about the new service in an attempt to break the record for the most amount of money raised during a Premier League fixture through text donations alone.

And Gueye, who shone during Everton's recent FA Cup victory over the Black Cats, is also lending his support to the campaign.

The Frenchman said: “I know all about Everton in the Community and I would ask our fans to support this. It’s a great idea!”

Ahead of the game, Everton in the Community will also be holding some Easter fun near the Isla Gladstone Conservatory in Stanley Park.

Between 12-2.30pm, Junior Blues will be treated to fairground-style rides and activities, including mini-go karts, a bouncy castle and the EA Sports Gaming Hub.

Everton in the Community coaches will also be running football skills sessions and face painting, though all activity is weather permitting.

*All texts are free to send and 100 per cent of the money donated goes to the Blues’ official charity. The amount you decide to donate will be deducted from your phone credit or added to your next bill.
