David Moyes praised Landon Donovan's impact after he set up Everton's equaliser against Aston Villa.
Everton required a Victor Anichebe leveler - set up by the American - to take a share of the spoils at Villa Park after Darren Bent had put the hosts ahead.
But the Toffees were good value for a point and could even have taken all three with Shay Given making a number of excellent saves.
Moyes said: "We did okay, we passed it quite well in the first half and made some opportunities.
"I think overall it the players did okay. We got a good point, when we went a goal down it was going to be difficult, they had one or two moments but we kept going."
Donovan was playing his fourth game since arriving on loan from LA Galaxy and his impact it pleasing his boss.
"I have got to give great credit to Landon," continued Moyes. "I thought he was the best player on the pitch today.
"He covered the ground well, passed it well and made an opportunity for Louis which looked like a penalty kick in the first half.
"And he made the through pass which got Victor into score."
