Packed Programme For Potters

@Everton

The football world was rocked this week by the tragic death of Gary Speed and Sunday’s official matchday programme for the fixture with Stoke City pays tribute to the former Blues captain.

A full colour poster recalls a famous Speed goal for Everton, while Bill Kenwright, David Moyes, Phil Neville, Duncan Ferguson, James Beattie, Gary Naysmith, Alan Stubbs, Andy Holden and Barry Horne all remember the Welshman, who also played for Leeds United, Newcastle United, Bolton Wanderers and Sheffield United.

Elsewhere in the only matchday magazine that matters, there’s all the action and stats from the crucial wins over Wolverhampton Wanderers and Bolton Wanderers, with a man on target at the Reebok Stadium in Marouane Fellaini the main player interview.

The big Belgian gives his thoughts on signing a new five-year contract with the Club, his partnership in the middle of the park with Jack Rodwell and his hopes for a trophy-laden future at Goodison.

Paul Bracewell, who served both Stoke and Everton with distinction, looks back on his time at both clubs. It’s the Blues who touched his heart, however, and he reflects on winning a league title and a European trophy during his time on Merseyside, as well as the horrendous injury that almost ended his career.

There’s plenty more on offer for the date with Tony Pulis’ men, with a full round-up of all the latest Reserves and Academy action, while we also bring you up to date with the youngsters currently plying their trade away from Goodison on loan.

Ronnie Goodlass pens his regular column, while it’s the turn of Stubbs in the Gimme 5ive feature as the Reserve-team manager reveals his best tunes, most memorable games, top places and some random favourites.

Absolute Radio pundit Tony Dorigo, who played with Speed at Leeds, muses on past games at Goodison and there’s also the highlights of former physio Mick Rathbone’s recent webchat on evertonfc.com.

We bring you a comprehensive look at Stoke, with particular focus on their six key players, while supporters of all ages can tackle the Spot the Difference puzzle as well as taking on the tricky Toffees quiz and we also look back at previous Everton fixtures played ‘On This Day’.

The 84-page edition is priced £3 and will be available to purchase inside and outside the stadium, from the Everton One and Two megastore and sales points outside of Goodison and in Stanley Park car park.
