Everton welcomed the crew from ITV1’s breakfast show Daybreak to Finch Farm on Monday.
Presenter and former-Emmerdale actress Hayley Tamaddon visited the Blues’ training ground to meet Club captain Phil Neville and teammates James McFadden and Victor Anichebe, who handed over their coats to Hayley as part of Daybreak’s ‘Donate a Coat’ appeal for the Salvation Army.
The Salvation Army is asking people to donate an unwanted coat and help people living on low incomes or who are homeless and struggle to afford adequate winter clothing.
To raise awareness of the campaign, Daybreak set Hayley a 48-hour challenge to collect coats from famous faces across other ITV programmes and the North West, and the Everton players were more than happy to help out.
Neville told evertonfc.com: “We are delighted to be able to support this campaign by simply donating some Everton coats. It’s a simple gesture but one that can be so effective for those who need them.”
To support the campaign, all people need to do is to donate an unwanted coat that is clean, in good condition and suitable for another person to wear, and The Salvation Army will give it to someone else that needs it.
The footage of Hayley’s visit to Finch Farm can be seen on ITV1’s Daybreak on Thursday, 24 November.
