Every week on evertonfc.com Graeme Sharp gives us the lowdown on the Blues' next opposition in Sharpy's Scouting Report.
But ahead of the 216th Merseyside derby we've enlisted the help of Ian Snodin to give Sharpy a hand for a special series of Scouting Reports.
Every day this week Sharpy and Snods will take a look at one of the key parts of Saturday's game as David Moyes' side look to beat the Reds for a second successive season at Goodison Park.
We started on Monday with the goal threat and in this edition the pair will be outlining the man they think is Liverpool's key player.
Snods said: "I think Stewart Downing is a threat. He has a quality left peg and coming inside he is liable to have a shot on goal and he's a danger with his deliveries into the box."
But the former Aston Villa and Middlesbrough wideman hasn't yet tasted the atmosphere Goodison Park can generate for Merseyside derbies.
"A lot of Liverpool lads won't have faced Everton in a derby so it will be new to them," continued Snods. "Hopefully the atmosphere might get to them. They are big players and it shouldn't do, but some won't have played in a Merseyside derby and they are different.
