Everton Chairman Bill Kenwright has pledged to refund all fans who purchased a 2011/12 Everton shirt printed with the names 'Arteta' or 'Beckford'.
The Chairman's one off gesture means that any supporter who purchased the 2011/12 away kit or home kit printed with the names of the departed players can get their money back if they can provide proof of purchase. The deadline for the refund offer is September 30.
Supporters who purchased the printed shirts from either the Everton One or Everton Two store should return to the store with the shirt and relevant receipt and notify a member of staff they wish to receive the refund on or before September 30.
Mr Kenwright said: “" I have been contacted by several supporters (a lot with children) who had bought the new shirts with Mikel and Jermaine’s surnames on the back of them. Both players left the Club quite literally at the very last minute on transfer deadline day.
“These are unusual circumstances and I simply want to try and play fair by those supporters who have spent hard earned money on these shirts.”
If a shirt was purchased from the evertondirect.com online store, please call 44 (0) 871 663 1878 or email H.Lawler@kitbag.com and quoting your original order number and a refund will be processed.
This refund offer will commence from 9am on Monday 19 September, 2011 and is only available for 2011/12 Everton shirts bearing the printed name 'Arteta' or 'Beckford' on the back.
