Everton manager David Moyes says he may choose not to risk Tim Cahill in Sunday’s Premier League finale against Chelsea.
The Aussie has only featured sporadically since the turn of the year and has been struggling with a foot injury since coming back from Asia Cup duty.
His most recent outing was a typically spiky 20-minute cameo against Manchester City, but Moyes says Cahill is perhaps better off thinking about a summer of convalescence and returning 100 per cent at the start of July.
“We are not sure if Tim Cahill is fit,” the Everton boss said at his pre-match press briefing.
“He wasn’t fit last week and we might choose to give him as much time as possible to get over his foot injury so that he is ready for next season.”
Louis Saha and Marouane Fellaini (both ankle) remain on the sidelines for the Blues, while Diniyar Bilyaletdinov starts a three-match suspension following his red card against West Brom last week.
