Everton youngster Laurence Wilson has joined Mansfield Town on a month-long loan.

Wilson, 19, has been a regular for the Blues' reserves this term, but has taken this opportunity to sample first team football.

He is expected to go straight into the Stags' League Two encounter with Macclesfield this weekend.

Mansfield boss Peter Shirtliff said: "I have seen him play a few times for Everton Reserves and seen that he is a strong and tough player with plenty of pace, he is a player that will get stuck in and I believe that he will be a great addition to the squad."

Wilson, who can play at left-back or in midfield, has made 17 starts for the reserves this season and has England honours at under 16, 17, 18 and 19 level.
