Fox On Patrol

Daniel Fox will look to build on his steady start to the season with another run-out for the reserves against Birmingham City at Southport's Haig Avenue this evening, kick-off 7.00pm.

The young defender was rewarded for his performances in the Barclays Premier Reserve League this season with a place on the substitutes' bench for last weekend's Premiership clash with Aston Villa.

Admittedly Fox's inclusion was due to injuries to Gary Naysmith and Joseph Yobo but it is a clear indication that the 18-year-old is in the thoughts of Blues Boss David Moyes.

Joining Fox in tonight's starting line-up is striker Nick Chadwick, who plays after passing a late fitness test at Bellefield training ground.

Eddy Bosnar is handed another opportunity in central defence but Anthony Gerrard is still ruled out after sustaining a knee injury against Aston Villa a fortnight ago.

Again it is a predominantly young side Andy Holden is forced to field with Iain Turner, James Vaughan, Scott Phelan and Stephen Wynne all in the starting eleven.

The Blues go into this evening's game having only been beaten once in the last five and a result against Birmingham would undoubtedly boost confidence ahead of a busy November.

Everton (from): Turner, Wynne, Fox, Hughes, Bosnar, Phelan, Seargeant, Harris, Chadwick, Vaughan, Wilson, Fowler, Gallagher, Anichebe, Wright, Boyle, Vidarsson.
