Manchester City boss Kevin Keegan has for the first time
confirmed an interest in signing Steve McManaman.
McManaman looks certain to leave current club Real Madrid before
the start of La Liga after falling down the pecking order at the
Keegan is a long term admirer of McManaman, but knows he could
face competition from Everton boss David Moyes, who has already
confirmed that he could be prepared in bringing the ex-Liverpool
winger back to Merseyside.
Keegan said: "He's quality, he is proven and he knows
the Premiership and he has already been with a great club,"
said Keegan on the Real ace.
"We have talked about him, but he's just one of a
number of players we have looked at.
"If you ask David Moyes he'd probably say the same
thing because he is a good player, and one or two other clubs might
want him to."
