Campbell Ok For Deepdale

@Everton

Kevin Campbell will definitely be a part of the Everton squad that travels to Preston on Saturday despite limping out of the midweek defeat at Dundee United.

The Blues top goalscorer last season took a heavy challenge in the second half of the hugely disappointing reversal at Tannadice and was replaced, but David Moyes revealed to evertonfc.com that there was no real damage.

"Kevin seems fine," he said. "He trained well this morning and we haven't seen any reaction to Kevin at all."

The manager will make his first return to Deepdale this weekend since he left Preston 16 months ago to take the Goodison hot-seat and he's looking for a vast improvement on the display he witnessed in midweek.

"I am looking for a much better performance than I got at Dundee United," he said.

"You will start to see me getting a little more ruthless. I will be picking my team on the performances I get and some of them ruled themselves out at Dundee."

He stressed though that it's not all doom and gloom even though the 0-1 loss in Scotland was a blow.

"We're looking for things in the players, signs that they are getting into good form or fitness," he said. "In the main, they are doing well. We're pleased with the way they're coming through."

Squad (from): Gerrard, Simonsen, Hibbert, Pistone, Yobo, Unsworth, Stubbs, Weir, Li Tie, Gravesen, Pembridge, Gemmill, Linderoth, Watson, Naysmith, Osman, Radzinski, Campbell, Chadwick
