Moyes: No Positives

Everything you need to know about the new boss here.

David Moyes declared after the disappointing defeat at Dundee United that there were very few positives he could take from his team's display

The Blues stumbled to a 0-1 setback at Tannadice, courtesy of a goal from former trialist Collin Samuel, and Moyes told

"I won't take much from that. The players got some more match fitness but other than that I can't take a great deal from it.

"There were more bits in the game that were not good than there were good.

"I thought we passed the ball relatively well but passing doesn't get you goals unless it's good and purposeful and I just thought we were a bit negative over the 90 minutes.

After this second pre-season defeat, the manager takes his troops to his former club Preston North End on Saturday but he insisted that motivation at this stage of the pre-season is not an issue.

"I don't need to lift anyone at this stage of the season because the matches are not awfully important," he said, "although we'd obviously much rather win than lose."
