Still To Decide

by Mark Rowan

David Moyes admits he is still some way from deciding on the eleven players that will start for Everton against Arsenal at Highbury on August 16.

The Blues Boss has been pleased with the attitude and commitment of his entire squad since they returned for pre-season training five weeks ago and will give everyone the same opportunity of being involved.

There is still well over a fortnight to go before the big kick-off and a handful of friendlies left to play and Moyes will keep monitoring his players' progress before making any decision.

"It is too early to pick a team but you do start formulating things in your head and you think players are ready," he said.

"But obviously injuries and people running into form during the games in the next few weeks will also help my decision."

Moyes is keen that the pre-season preparations continue at a steady pace and whilst his players now have the necessary fitness, they all require as many games as possible.

"I am sure all managers will be happy with the way things are going," he added.

"What matters is that the players get in a good condition and are ready for the season.

At the moment we are doing that, we had a good result against Rangers but we have to remember it is only a build-up to the start of a very tough season."
