Boss: Nothing's Happening

by Mark Rowan

David Moyes has reiterated that there is nothing happening on the transfer front as far as Everton are concerned at the moment.

The Blues Boss though is continuing daily with his search and insists that he still has aspirations to introduce new faces to Goodison Park before the start of the season.

Steve McManaman is a player he has already admitted an interest in and reports are now suggesting that Moyes is ready to step up his attempts to sign the 31-year-old.

But talking to from the Blues' training base in St Andrews Moyes confirmed that there had been no such movement.

He said: "It seems now that everyday we are linked with one player or the other and Steve Mcmanaman is another name.

"He is a name that I have already admitted we have an interest in but it is starting to get crazy at the moment.

"People know who we have made offers for players and nothing has happened on those fronts and I would say there is nothing happening with anyone just now."

McManaman expects to learn later this week whether or not he has a future at the Bernabeu following talks with new Real Madrid boss Carlos Quieroz.

Currently on a tour of the Far East with his club team-mates, McMananman is expected to be informed that he would be free to leave Spain after four years service.

That, of course, would alert a whole host of clubs at home and abroad including Manchester City, who are continuing to monitor events on a daily basis.
