Yobo A Star For Super Eagles

by Mark Rowan

Welcome, Marco!

Everything you need to know about the new boss here.

Joseph Yobo shined for Nigeria as they beat Venezuela 1-0 in a friendly at Watford's Vicarage Road on Saturday afternoon.

In front of less than 1,000 spectators the Blues defender showed his class throughout as the Super Eagles dominated the majority of the proceedings.

There were occasions though when the Nigerian backline faltered giving the South American side a chance, but the impressive Yobo tidied up for the Africans.

The 22-year-old will now leave his international colleagues and head to Scotland to join his club team-mates for the latest leg of the pre-season preparations.

Bolton's Jay-Jay Okocha, meanwhile, scored the only goal of the game after eight minutes, drilling the ball into the back of the net from the edge of the area.
