Boss Goes Over Old Ground

by Mark Rowan

David Moyes has reiterated that Wayne Rooney is not for sale and if the club did ever decide to cash in on the England star then he would contemplate giving up the Goodison Park hot-seat.

The 17-year-old striker has been rumoured in recent weeks to be a transfer target of Chelsea following the arrival of Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich.

But Moyes, who will be without his young star for a month after he picked up an ankle injury, isn't interested in any amount of cash for one of world football's hottest prospects.

"I would probably decide to leave if the club ever sells Wayne," said Moyes. "Wayne Rooney is not for sale.

"Clubs can offer what they like but he is going nowhere. I am here to build a young side - not sell our best players."
