Lee Carsley and Mark Pembridge have emerged as doubts for
Everton's prestigious friendly with Glasgow Rangers on Saturday
Carsley injured his knee during the recent pre-season training
camp in Austria and despite playing against Crewe in midweek; the
problem is showing no signs of easing.
Pembridge suffered a knock to his calf during the second half of
Tuesday night's 1-0 victory at Rochdale and his midfield
team-mate Carsley is also unlikely to play any part in
Everton's trip north of the border.
"There's one or two injury worries but nothing
serious," David Moyes told evertonfc.com prior to departing
for Glasgow on Friday afternoon.
"Mark got a dead calf in the game against Rochdale and Lee
has a little bit of a medial ligament problem, which he picked up
"We'll give them every opportunity and have a look at
them, but those two are doubtful to travel to Scotland."
Niclas Alexandersson has recovered from the slight knock that
kept him out of the midweek double header and he will head to
Scotland looking to build on an already impressive pre-season.
Meanwhile, Joseph Yobo will miss out on the Blues' first
trip to Ibrox in over 20 years after being called up on
The 22-year-old centre back, who sustained a knee injury the
last time he played in Glasgow, will link up with the Super
Eagles' squad for a friendly with Venezuela on Saturday and
then return to link-up with the Blues at their St Andrews training
