Duo Doubtful For Ibrox Clash

Lee Carsley and Mark Pembridge have emerged as doubts for Everton's prestigious friendly with Glasgow Rangers on Saturday afternoon.

Carsley injured his knee during the recent pre-season training camp in Austria and despite playing against Crewe in midweek; the problem is showing no signs of easing.

Pembridge suffered a knock to his calf during the second half of Tuesday night's 1-0 victory at Rochdale and his midfield team-mate Carsley is also unlikely to play any part in Everton's trip north of the border.

"There's one or two injury worries but nothing serious," David Moyes told evertonfc.com prior to departing for Glasgow on Friday afternoon.

"Mark got a dead calf in the game against Rochdale and Lee has a little bit of a medial ligament problem, which he picked up in Austria.

"We'll give them every opportunity and have a look at them, but those two are doubtful to travel to Scotland."

Joseph Yobo

Niclas Alexandersson has recovered from the slight knock that kept him out of the midweek double header and he will head to Scotland looking to build on an already impressive pre-season.

Meanwhile, Joseph Yobo will miss out on the Blues' first trip to Ibrox in over 20 years after being called up on international duty.

The 22-year-old centre back, who sustained a knee injury the last time he played in Glasgow, will link up with the Super Eagles' squad for a friendly with Venezuela on Saturday and then return to link-up with the Blues at their St Andrews training base.

Everton from: Wright, Watson, Pistone, Stubbs, Weir, Unsworth, Alexandersson, Radzinski, Campbell, Ferguson, Pembridge, Li Tie, Simonsen, Naysmith, Gravesen, Gemmill, Rooney, Linderoth, Carsley, Hibbert, Clarke, Gerrard.
