England Ladies Under 19 side head for glory this week as they do
battle in the UEFA European Championships, with the Blues'
Kelly McDougall expected to play a starring role.
Head Coach Mo Marley, currently Everton's Player/Coach, has
picked a strong squad including McDougall for the tournament who
will contest the coveted European crown in a group with the hosts
Germany, Sweden and Italy.
The games will take place in and around Leipzig from 25th July -
3rd August and England's mouth-watering clash with current
champions Germany will be beamed back live on Eurosport on 29th
The Under 19s have been very successful over recent seasons,
competing in last year's European Championships, getting
knocked out by the eventual victors, and also participated in the
inaugural FIFA U19 World Cup, reaching the quarter-finals before
succumbing to hosts Canada.

Meanwhile, adding to her ever-growing number of accolades, Mo
Marley has now joined the 'A' Team.
She recently undertook the second part of the Advanced Coaching
Licence, and passed the course. She now becomes only the sixth
female to attain the award. Marley will continue in her coaching
role for the Blues this season, but realises she may still have to
play a role on the pitch.
She is part of a three-pronged management team that will also
consist of Kher husband, Keith, and Phil Hackney.
Hackney himself is an 'A' Licence coach and a Coach
Educator for the Liverpool County F.A. He is also the Director of
Coaching at the Everton F.C. Female Centre of Excellence.
He played a bit part last season but has now committed himself
further. Hackney's involvement will mean that Everton are the
only female club to operate under two 'A' Licence coaches.
Keith Marley will also take temporary charge of the reserve side
after Keith Cliffe stepped down at the end of last season.
