Blues Qualify For Next Phase

Everton's Milk Cup side have qualified for the next phase of the competition as the group winners, but left it late against Maccabi Haifa.

The Blues were trailing 0-2 at half time following two early goals from the Israelis and were heading out of the competition on goal difference.

However, in the second half, the youngsters rolled their socks up and produced an excellent performance that earned them a precious point.

Scott Phelan held his nerve from the penalty spot to bring the Blues back into the game and with ten minutes to go James Vaughan brought the scores level following a goalmouth scramble.

Everton will play Dundalk Schoolboys in the quarter-finals of the competition in Megaw Park, Ballymoney at 5 pm on Wednesday evening.
