Double Joy For Academy

There was more success for Everton's Academy sides in their pre-season games on Saturday.

The Under-17s, taken by Neil Dewsnip in the absence of Gary Ablett, romped to a 5-0 win over Northwich Victoria's Under-19 side.

An Andy Fowler brace and goals from Hopkins, Harris and Boyle gave the Blues victory at the Drill Field.

Meanwhile, Alan Harper's under-19s made it two wins in two, with a 1-0 victory over Unibond League side, Winsford United.

On a difficult pitch, Everton did well to play a good passing game throughout the 90 minutes against an experienced Winsford side.

The deadlock was broken in the 65th minute when a 25-yard blockbuster from Anthony Barry thundered into the top right-hand corner of the goal.
