DCL Talks Films, Friends And 'The Funniest Man In Football'

In this season's matchday programme, we have been asking the players a selection of 'Random' questions to find out a little more about them.

Here Dominic Calvert-Lewin reveals his favourite film, best career moment so far and first celebrity crush...

Best moment of your career so far?

The Chelsea game in December was a really big moment for me. There was a lot riding on that game. You can’t underestimate how big it was for us and how pivotal it was in changing our fortunes in the league. To score two goals and be man of the match, with Dunc as the caretaker manager, that’s got to be up there.

Best mate in football?

Tom Davies. Davo’s my best mate in footy. You’ve got Davo, and Jonjoe Kenny, too. I’ll go with those two.

Favourite film?

I’ve just watched Jerry Maguire. I’ve only recently got around to watching it! What a film. ‘SHOW ME THE MONEY, JERRY!’. Honestly, I might go home [after this interview] and watch it again. What a film that is.

First celebrity crush?

Cheryl Cole!

Favourite city?

Los Angeles. It’s an amazing place. You can go to the beach and I like the palm trees and just the whole vibe of the city. When we’re winding down in the summer, it’s a nice place to go.

Favourite sportsperson outside of football?

I’ll go for Anthony Joshua. You have to be very mentally tough in the environment and sport he’s in – that’s something I admire about the way he carries himself.

What food do you love?

Salmon and pizza. Not together, though.

What food do you hate?

Cheese. I’ll have cheese on pizza but that’s the only time I’ll ever have it.

Can you sing?

I like to think so, but I’m probably not very good!

What was your initiation song?

Ain’t No Mountain High Enough. I had a ketchup bottle in my hand as a mic. The song went down quite well.

Funniest person you’ve met in football?

Ryan Cresswell (below). We played together when I was on loan at Northampton. Hilarious, he was. I used to meet him at a junction on the M1 and then we’d drive down together to Northampton. Funniest man in football.

What gets on your nerves?

Filling up my car with petrol. It does my head in. I do it all the time.

If aliens invaded, which Everton player would you choose to save us?

Yerry Mina. I’d want him in battle with me. Just sheer brute force.
