Evans Up For PL2 Player Of The Month Prize

Antony Evans’ exceptional form for Everton Under-23s has been recognised with a nomination for September’s Premier League 2 Player of the Month prize.

The talented midfielder has consistently showcased his skill, work-rate and ball-striking ability since the start of the 2019/20 campaign, helping David Unsworth’s side string together a nine-match unbeaten run.

Evans' goalscoring threat has also been evident as he has netted in each of the young Blues’ past three matches.

The 21-year-old’s spectacular last-gasp strike earned Everton a dramatic 2-1 victory at Brighton & Hove Albion on 20 September. Evans collected the ball wide on the left before cutting inside and curling a magnificent 25-yard effort beyond Seagulls goalkeeper Hugo Keto.

Evans was at it again one week later, finding the top corner with a well-struck free-kick as the Toffees drew 2-2 with Manchester City.

He was also on the scoresheet in Everton’s 2-0 Leasing.com Trophy win at Burton Albion on Tuesday night, slotting in from close range after Harry Charsley’s shot had been saved.

The winner of the PL2 Player of the Month prize will be decided by the Premier League's Football Development Panel.
